Hello! This is a short game I made while exploring the Unity engine's rigidbody physics. The game is sort of similar to flappy bird, but with the addition of end goals and side-scrolling level progression over 9 levels.  I hope you enjoy!

Controls:

Space - Thrust

A - Rotate left

D - Rotate right

I would like to reflect on the making of this project so that I may come back to this in the future. I had a lot of fun making this project! It came from a prototype I made a while ago while learning some of the basics of the Unity engine. Lately I've had some time to myself and so I decided to take another look at some of the older things I have made.

When I came by my old tests for the rigidbody physics system, I decided to dress it up a bit. Picked up an asset pack for tiles, added some more levels, added enemies and scripts for motion, etc. The circular enemy paths in level 6 seem to have a bug where their paths are much more constrained than I had made them in the editor. I'll take another look at it and see if I can have that patched out because it kind of makes the level too easy otherwise.  EDIT: This bug has been corrected!

The most engaging aspects of making this game for me were level design, environmental art, and UI design / programming. Although I am putting a lot of energy into learning to be a better programmer, I'd like to further refine my skills in these fields. I think perhaps I will try to make a game that makes extensive use of menus and UI interactions, such as a game that requires a lot of clicking and dragging, or some sort of text adventure.
